Japanese swimmer Ikee Rikako achieved Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the history of the Asian Games, Rikako Ikee is considered to be the first female who successfully received the award. The athlete is the front-runner for the award because she acquired six gold medals in Jakarta pool. A melancholic expression came to her when she had learned that there was no MVP for a while. But, there was a re-evaluation, the Olympic Council of Asia declared a unanimous choice for the MVP award on the final day of the multi-sport event.

The young athlete said that it was an honor to receive such an exceptional award. She had obtained a trophy and a cheque, worth 50,000 dollars. Ikee becomes the fourth Japanese athlete to gain the award. Expectation arises from her as Tokyo will host the Olympics in 2020. She is determined to pull out all the stops for the next game and make her country proud. The Asian Games ended and Japan makes a remarkable legacy as they accomplished a total of 205 medals including 75 gold, 56 silver, and 74 bronze.
