Netflix is raising its prices for its streaming services. The standard plan, which allows users to stream in high definition on up to two screens, is now priced at $10.99 monthly from $9.99. The premium plan, which allows users to stream in ultra high definition on up to four screens, is now $13.99 from $11.99. The basic plan, which allows streaming on one device only, remains at $7.99 .

However, this new pricing scheme will not impact existing subscribers yet. It will take effect after they receive their 30-day notice. Netflix has adjusted its pricing plan as the company invests more into developing original programming. The company has invested $15.7 billion on “Netflix Originals”, which explains the increase in their subscription fees.
