Uta Abe, Judo’s rising star from Japan, is the face of Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She started playing Judo at the age of five. Abe said that she immediately fell in love with the sport the first time she played it. She also mentioned that her brother, Hifumi, has played a huge part in the development of her Judo career.

The Dusseldorf Grand Prix 2017 was her first international competition. She bagged awards as she was able to defeat world champions Ai Shishime and Amandine Buchard of France. Fans have huge expectations from the 17-year-old athlete in the upcoming tournaments. Meanwhile, she promised to do her best to make the country and her parents proud.
