Self-care apps are gaining popularity in the recent months. According to intelligence firm Sensor Tower, self-care apps’ revenue altogether is $15 million in the US alone. Creators of these apps earned a total of $27 million worldwide. Consistent reports from various intelligence firms show that apps Calm and Headspace made most of the said revenue.

Experts are uncertain as to why self-care apps are becoming popular. Some reckon that it is because the young people nowadays are self-absorbed. Others connect it to the Internet and social media websites. Optimists think that it is due to the increasing awareness on mental health. Many experts agree, however, that professional help is still needed in dealing with serious mental health issues.
