Apple just revealed its first public beta of iOS 12, the next version of the operating system (OS) for iPhone and iPad. It’s a good thing that everyone can get the trial version without a paid account. However, be advised that the company is yet to disclose the final version of the OS this fall of 2018.

Betas will be released every few weeks during summer though, which is a good way to fix as many bugs as early as possible. Just make sure not to install the trial version of the OS on your main iPhone or iPad. This is because there are rare cases wherein beta software can brick your device.
So what exactly can we expect from the new iOS 12? Let’s take a look at this brief rundown:

Performance improvement and application upgrades
The main feature of the iOS 12 is, of course, performance improvement. Other apps such as Photos, News, and Stocks have been enhanced, too, including Apple Books (formerly called iBooks).

Siri enhancements
More information and ehancements can be added to Siri. The new OS also includes the Workflow app as an addition to the Siri Shortcuts app.

New Screen Time feature and Memoji
The new Screen Time feature allows you to see and control how much time you spend using each app. Notifications are now clustered, and you can silence them from the lock screen. Users may also use a customized avatar called Memoji in iMessage and FaceTime.
