Summer has begun in Japan and with it, a new device was released just in time for the season. Tanita, a wellness-device maker, has revealed their newest product. It’s called the ES-100, a self-smell checking device that measures odors from a scale of zero to ten.

There are three steps when using the self-smell checking device: turn it on, pull the sensor out, and direct it to where you want to check. The device can check both bad smells and nice scents. Tanita said that the ES-100 mainly assesses the strength of smells.

Tanita recommends the ES-100 not only to office workers but to anyone who wants to know their smell. The company predicts that the buyers of the smell checker will mostly be salarymen in the 40s and 50s age groups. The ES-100 will go on sale at the start of July 2018.
