According to a report, there is an increasing number of child labor cases in the tobacco industry. Business owners aggrandize child labor in developing countries such as Zimbabwe, Indonesia, India, and Brazil. Children aged 14 and under are kept out of school to bore soil and plant tobacco in the fields. Tobacco is mainly used in making cigarettes that are sold internationally.

Children’s health is endangered because of too much exposure to pesticides and fertilizers used in farming. One Indonesian child worker named Julaeping said that she feels sick because of the enduring tobacco smell. Manufacturers are now taking actions to eradicate child labor in the tobacco industry.
