Poor-hand washing may lead to contamination and this habit may get worse, a study found. Many people are still using alcohol-based sanitizers instead of antibacterial soap and water. There are 11% of germs that spread on the refrigerator handles, kitchen towels and kitchen utensils that people may get. In less obvious ways like when holding raw meat or contaminated containers people also get germs. Germs that are carried by unwashed hands can be passed onto another person that may lead to sickness.

According to the research, proper hand-washing helps reduce the number of people from infections. By doing so, bigger percentage of people who wash their hands correctly will increased. Carmen Rotteberg, Deputy Secretary of USDA said that proper hand-washing can protect your family from any bacteria.
