Top Film Production Company, Warner Brothers Entertainment, decides to open a theme park in Tokyo, as stated by the Japanese media. The theme park will be constructed on land owned by the Seibu group, where a nearly shutting off Toshimaen Amusement Park is located. Toshimaen will moderately close its facilities and swimming pools starting this year. Warner Bros. will occupy a portion of it, and the remaining land will be purchased by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for the park’s development. The on-going agreement discussion is expected to be finalized by this spring.

Harry Potter is a British-American film series based on the eponymous novels by author J. K. Rowling and was distributed by Warner Bros. consisting of eight fantasy films. Harry Potter became a global hit and opened its facilities in Universal Studios Japan last 2014 which became the main tourist destination in the Kansai region. According to some reports, it is still unknown what this new Harry Potter theme park will be like, and how different it will be from Universal Studios in California, USA and in Osaka, Japan. Reports also say that the theme park’s content will have Harry Potter studio sets used from the making of the films from 2001 to 2011, with the reference to Warner Bros’ Studio in London, where guests can tour around the sets. The rise of the new Harry Potter theme park tentatively set to open by spring 2023.
