The globally popular singing competition “The X Factor” will return to the television screens in Israel this year but with the addition of a familiar judging panel, Simon Cowell. Cowell is set to feature as a judge on the show’s fourth season. The veteran record producer and tv personality created “The X Factor” in the U.K. and was part of the judging panel for its first seven seasons before launching its U.S. version. In a statement, Israeli network Reshet 13 emphasized that this is the first time that Cowell will serve as a judge on his show outside of the U.K. and the U.S.

“Over the years we have discovered incredible talents from around the world through the ‘X Factor’ format.”, said Cowell. He added, “I can barely wait to see what the Israelis have to offer.” Reshet network mentioned that being one of the biggest and influential names in the music industry, Cowell’s participation as a judge in Israel’s The X Factor would bring international exposure to their local talents. The show will serve as a comeback for Cowell after recuperating from a back surgery earlier last year in California.
