Copy of the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci will be sold at Christie’s auction house in Paris, France. The estimated price of the painting copy is €300,000 or $365,645. The Mona Lisa is also known as the Mona Lisa Hekking, named after its ex-owner Raymond Hekking. It was painted in the 17th century after Hekking bought the original in the 1950s in Nice, Italy. The original Mona Lisa is said to have been painted in the 16th century by da Vinci. It made international news after it was stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris by one of its employees, Vincenzo Peruggia. It was recovered in 1913 after Peruggia tried to sell it to an antiques trader in Florence, Italy.
