Disneyland Paris, Europe’s most-visited theme park, is undergoing a €2 billion ($2.05 billion) expansion aimed at transforming its offerings and cementing its position as a premier global destination. The expansion includes the unveiling of “Disney Tales of Magic,” a nighttime spectacle combining drones, synchronized fountains, high-definition projections, and lasers previously showcased at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The show, a 20-minute immersive experience, highlights Disney and Pixar stories with music from a 100-piece orchestra and a unique anthem titled “Live in Magic.” The initiative also includes the renaming and doubling in size of Walt Disney Studios Park and the development of themed lands such as The World of Frozen and The Lion King, slated for completion by 2026. Analysts emphasized that these advancements are part of a broader strategy to enhance the visitor experience and drive higher attendance.

The expansion highlights several technological innovations, including lasers capable of traveling 37 kilometers while ensuring safety near large crowds. Artistic directors emphasized that the show’s design reflects Disney’s evolution in storytelling, incorporating modern narratives such as “Encanto” and “Inside Out 2,” which address complex themes like anxiety and resilience. The revamped Walt Disney Studios Park, set to reopen in 2025 as Disney Adventure World, will feature an entrance themed around a Hollywood film premiere, guiding visitors through immersive environments. Additionally, the luxury Disneyland Hotel has been renovated with royal-themed suites to attract premium visitors. Industry experts believe this expansion, part of Disney’s $60 billion global investment, underscores a commitment to innovation and storytelling, enhancing Disneyland Paris’s reputation as an indispensable component of France’s tourism sector.
