On May 19, 2025, police in Durango, Colorado, got a call about a kangaroo running loose. The kangaroo’s name is Irwin. Last year, Irwin also got out, but the police could catch him easily because he was small. This time, Irwin was too big and strong to catch in the same way. A caller told the police that the kangaroo might be hit by a car.Police Commander Nick Stasi said the old way to catch Irwin did not work because the animal is now bigger. Officer Shane Garrison, who knows how to handle animals, found Irwin in a backyard. He trapped the kangaroo near a house and put him in the police car. Irwin was taken back to his family.
