A special music program is helping animals in shelters. The program is called Wild Tunes. It started in 2023 in Houston. A 12-year-old boy named Yuvi Agarwal began the project. He saw that music made his dog feel calm. So, he wanted to try music in animal shelters. His parents helped him start a group that brings musicians to play for animals. About 100 people have played music in nine shelters in Houston, Denver, and New Jersey. The music helps animals feel less scared or sad. Many people think music is a language that everyone can understand. Some studies say that classical music helps dogs feel calm in places like shelters or animal hospitals. But not all scientists agree. A professor named Lori Kogan said the effect of music on animals can change. It depends on the type of music, how loud it is, and the kind of animal. Even with different ideas, some musicians think the music is good for animals. A woman named Sarah McDonner said music can make animals happy and help them get adopted. The program is still growing and helping more animals and musicians.
