In Atlanta, people can use the Uber app to ask for a robotaxi. The cars can drive by themselves. Tesla also started a robotaxi service in Austin. But Tesla has a person in the car to help if needed. Waymo’s cars do not have drivers. The service area in Atlanta is 65 square miles. If people do not want a self-driving car, they can choose a normal car with a driver.

Waymo gives more than 250,000 paid rides every week. These rides are booked through the Waymo app and the Uber app. Experts say robotaxis can help cities have cleaner and faster travel. But there are some problems. People still worry about safety. There are also rules the companies must follow. Uber stopped its old self-driving car project after an accident and a legal problem with Waymo. Now, Uber works with other robotaxi companies. It has 18 partners and wants to reach 1.5 million robotaxi rides every year. Tesla and Zoox also plan to grow their robotaxi businesses.
