China sold more cars to other countries in 2025 as demand at home became slower, industry groups said. Car exports grew by 21 percent compared to the year before. Many of the exported cars were electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Chinese companies looked for foreign buyers because local competition increased. Total exports passed seven million vehicles, showing strong interest from other regions.

Experts said exports may continue to grow in 2026 as companies focus on overseas sales. Some government support programs were reduced, which made car sales slower at home. Overseas markets now play a larger role in company plans. Chinese carmakers are working to improve car features and reduce prices. However, some countries still place rules on electric cars. Even with these challenges, exports remain an important part of China’s car industry.
