Teenagers in Israel aged 16 to 18 years old have been receiving Pfizer vaccines against the coronavirus with their parents’ permission before university admission exams. According to an education ministry spokeswoman, it is done “to enable their return (to school) and the orderly holding of exams” since the tests are essential to determine the students’ future and placements in the military. Israel is the fastest country in the world to vaccinate its people, having already given shots to 10% of its population by the end of 2020. As of now, a quarter of its population has been vaccinated, including the elderly and high-risk individuals. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he hopes to restore Israel’s economy next month and prevent the entry of the virus variant.
