Television actress Alyssa Milano, recognized for roles in “Who’s the Boss?” and “Charmed,” will make her Broadway debut in the musical “Chicago” this fall. Milano will portray Roxie Hart starting September 16 at the Ambassador Theatre in New York City. The performance will run for eight weeks, ending November 10. Milano chose this time to join “Chicago” due to a stable family life, which permits a return to theater. The musical, set in the 1920s, is renowned for its sharp satire on how criminals are turned into celebrities by society and the media. It includes Bob Fosse-inspired dance moves and well-known songs such as “All That Jazz” and “Cell Block Tango.” Milano is excited about this new venture and aims to rekindle her love for the stage. She respects Ann Reinking, who originally played Roxie in the 1996 revival, and intends to honor Reinking’s performance while adding her own style. Milano’s Broadway debut is anticipated to be a significant event this season, following recent successes in film and television.
