Milan Fashion Week highlighted neutral and muted tones for Spring-Summer 2025. Designers have adopted a cautious approach due to uncertain times, focusing on creating fashion that will last. The event, which mainly featured womenswear collections, combined innovation and nostalgia. Boss reimagined its classic suits with a relaxed, deconstructed style, making them suitable for both day and evening wear. Antonio Marras brought back the joyful spirit of the 1950s with fun silhouettes, while Roberto Cavalli, known for bold designs, opened their show with soft, neutral tones before moving to more vibrant colors. Supermodels from the 1990s and 2000s, including Eva Herzigova and Joan Smalls, walked the runway in vintage gowns, paying tribute to Cavalli’s legacy. A touching moment occurred when Cavalli’s widow, Eva Cavalli, was invited on stage to honor his work.

Fausto Puglisi, leading the tribute, showcased Cavalli’s famous looks, featuring animal prints, slits, and fabrics such as leather, chiffon, and feathers. Puglisi also worked to connect with younger audiences, drawing attention to his collaborations with stars like Taylor Swift. Daniel Del Core stood out with his first full ready-to-wear collection, blending practical and elegant designs inspired by women in science and literature. Naomi Campbell closed his show in a stunning gown, adding a dramatic finish. Lastly, Boss designer Marco Falcioni promoted work-life balance by softening traditional business wear, while Marras honored Italian actress Pier Angeli with nostalgic designs that included shimmering accents.
