On June 17, 2025, three tombs were discovered in Dra Abu al-Naga in Luxor, Egypt. The tombs came from the New Kingdom period, around 1550–1070 B.C. Experts said the tombs belonged to respected people based on the wall writings. This discovery happened before the full opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which will show over 100,000 ancient objects. These items help people to better understand and respect Egypt’s long history and rich culture.
The tombs were for workers like Amum-em-Ipet, who worked in the estate of Amun; Baki, who managed a grain silo; and a man named “S,” who had many jobs, like temple leader and town head. Each tomb had a unique design. One had funeral pictures, but the wall was damaged. Another had a hallway and an unfinished room. The last one had a yard and small rooms. Officials said more research is needed. They also want to encourage tourists and experts to visit and learn from the site.
