From April 2024 to April 2025, India added 30 gigawatts of clean energy. This is enough to give electricity to around 18 million homes. The Ministry of Power said that coal gave 60% of the country’s electricity before, but now it is below 50%. Solar energy is cheaper now because the country has strong sunlight and low-cost solar parts. This change is needed because India’s economy is growing fast. More factories and offices need power. Experts said the move is important to stop climate change and preserve nature. It is also an essential step for a better future.

India is now building 170 gigawatts of clean energy and wants to reach 500 gigawatts by 2030. A climate expert said that new tools make green power easier to use, even without sun or wind. Battery storage is also improving. The government gave $452 million to support this development. It also made laws to encourage clean energy. Experts said the move is inevitable. But the transition is still hard. Some challenges, like land use and weak power lines, must be fixed to make energy more reliable.
