The government in Thailand is helping animals during fighting near the Cambodia border. Many people had to leave their homes quickly because of the danger. Some people could not take their pets with them. To help, the Livestock Department made special places for animals. One center in Surin has space for about 20 animals. A few cats and dogs are already staying there. The government is also giving food to cows and buffaloes still in dangerous areas.

The shelters help people who had to leave but cannot stay with their pets. Some places, like hotels or shelters, do not allow animals. The director of the Surin center, Sornchai Kongsook, said people can leave their pets for free, but they must come every day to take care of them. A teacher named Wilawan Duangvao left her dogs at the shelter after she got an order to leave her home. She thanked the workers at the shelter for helping her pets. The fighting has hurt people and farm areas. The government says it is important to care for animals in times of danger.
