In August 2025, utility workers in Lima, Peru, made a discovery while working on gas lines. Two tombs were found during the digging. One tomb was empty. The other tomb had human bones that may be over 1,000 years old. The tomb also had four clay pots and three items made from pumpkin shells. The Ministry of Culture in Peru said the historic site is important. Lima has over 400 old sites from Incan times and earlier. These places are in areas where old groups of people lived before. Experts said the find is special because it shows how people in the past buried their dead.

Experts are now checking the body and objects. The body was sitting with its legs near the chest and was covered in cloth. The pots had red, black, and white colors. An archaeologist explained that the designs show a link to the Chancay group. The cleaning work is still going on. Experts said finds like this are not common but valuable. People showed enthusiasm. Officials said the site can help preserve Peru’s cultural history.
