Peptide drugs that have not been approved are becoming popular in the United States. Many influencers, fitness coaches, and famous people talk about these products online. Some stores sell injectable peptides for 300 to 600 dollars, and some clinics offer monthly injection programs that can cost thousands of dollars. People are interested because peptides naturally exist in the body and help with important functions. However, many of the peptides sold online have not been tested in large studies. Health experts warned that these products may cause allergic reactions, blood sugar problems, or other dangerous effects. The government said that injectable products meant to improve health must be approved by the Food and Drug Administration.Researchers are also worried about how these products are used. Some online figures tell followers to use many peptides at the same time, which may not be safe. Many of the injections are made by compounding pharmacies that do not receive the same level of oversight as regular drug companies. The FDA recently added more peptides to a list of substances that should not be produced because of safety concerns. These developments have increased questions about health risks and the future rules for peptide products.
