Schools for young offenders instead of jails

Juvenile offenders will soon be held in schools rather than in youth jails. This is part of the United Kingdom government’s plan to put education at the center of youth rehabilitation and to reduce recidivism. Justice Secretary Liz Truss pledged an additional £15 million for this project. The project with start with two schools. Juvenile offenders will study core subjects like English and Math. Oxford University gained the top spot among the best ranking universities for the year 2016. Oxford surpassed California Institute of Technology this year because of a more substantial research budget and increased international reception. Oxford is really excited by this recent turn of events, being that the recent Brexit could have entirely jeopardized the university’s funding, collaborative projects and international reception. University officials say undocumented students studying abroad should go home

  Undocumented immigrant students who are studying abroad are advised by colleges in the United States to return home before Donald Trump assumes presidency in January. This is due to Trump’s campaign for deportation of 2 to 3 million undocumented immigrants. This opens up the probability to cancel the former administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program which provides provisionary relief to youths from expatriation. California State University advised its 23 campuses to convince DACA beneficiaries abroad to return home before January 20.   The 2016-2017 Times Higher Education World University Rankings listed the 980 finest universities in the world. The ranking was determined by teaching, research, and knowledge transfer, and international outlook. The reckoning of the rankings was conducted by professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). 289 Asian universities from 24 nations made it into the list. Daytime students in night schools

  The government forged ahead with a proposal for the sake of junior high school students. These students were the ones who were rebuffed, or were incapable of going to daytime institutions. Public night institutions typically cater classes to those 15 years old or older who have not completed compulsory education. Educational abutment centers are operated by municipalities, while free schools are managed by private sectors. There are 97,000 junior high school students countrywide who refused to go to institutions.   The number of classes that teach programming to children is amplifying. This is in accordance to plans on having programming as an elementary school subject by academic year 2020. Education ministry experts want to know what is “serious” school abuse

  A council of scholars are calling the attention of the Education Ministry to specify “serious” bullying and create guidelines for investigation. The standard law decreed the schools and boards of education to establish teams to investigate on “serious” school bullying cases, which are detrimental to students’ development. Despite this decree, the scope of “serious” cases under the law is nebulous so response of authorities are inefficient. The ministry must enumerate comprehensive examples of grave penalties for bullying so that “serious” cases will be defined. JP pushes for English classes reform

  Japanese Education Ministry proposes 70 hours of English studies for incoming 5th and 6th grade students by the year 2020. The education proposal, presented to an advisory board of the Central Council for Education, is set to be carried out nationwide. Such significant English instruction advancement will affect the curricula taught in primary schools, middle schools, and high schools. The proponents suggest that English studies should start as early as 3rd grade. At present, English classes start during the 5th grade.
