A black feminist festival in the city of France is about to be banned on the grounds of excluding white people. The festival is scheduled to take place in a property owned by the city of Paris, but the restricted event is in a public area. Black people will occupy most of the area while another area will be open to all. Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris, tweeted that she deserved the right to prosecute the organizers for discrimination.

SOS Racisme, an anti-racist organization in France, called the event as an abomination and stated that it wallows in ethnic separations. In a statement issued by the organizers, they had been the target of campaign disinformation and they were disappointed to see some anti-racist organizations let themselves be manipulated by fake news. They continued by mentioning that many don’t encounter problems with women only feminist groups when race was not stipulated.
