English-speaking Artificial Intelligence (AI) will help 500 Japanese classrooms starting in 2019. A pilot project that costs 250 million yen aims to improve the English proficiency of the students and teachers. Aside from AI robots, online lessons, and the use of tablet apps are included in the trial project headed by international education. In two years, there will be a change in the national curriculum that requires children as early as 10 years old to learn English.
