Avoiding meat and processed food can make the world a better place.

A study from the journal ‘Nature’ says that Western diets which contain red meat and processed foods can increase damage to the environment by up to 90% by 2050. According to Marco Springmann, an author from the University of Oxford, this could cause dangerous climate change including bad weather and water pollution.

People should also lessen the amount of food waste to maintain a healthier world. A mainly plant-based diet could reduce the effect on the environment by up to 25%. Sharon Palmer, a plant-based food expert said that if people continue to eat meat and processed food at an increasing rate, it will result to terrible environmental damage for the planet. So let’s start the year right by eating more greens to save our planet.
