Arata Isozaki is a Japanese architect who won the 2019 Pritzker Prize. It is also known as the “Nobel Prize of architecture.” He completed over 100 buildings around the world in 60 years. According to a jury statement, the original, meaningful and idealistic approach of Isozaki to his works earned him the highest honor in architecture. The Palau Sant Jordi, a sports arena in Barcelona, Spain, is one of Isozaki’s most popular works. The Pritzker Prize is known as one of the most famous Western awards. In the last 10 years, Isozaki is the seventh Asian architect who won the award.
