A new study found that most people feel sad when a robot “dies”. A 42-year-old woman from Bedford, Texas named Christal White along with her husband Peter, had the same situation after losing Jibo, the one-foot tall robot that was introduced in her office 2 years ago. Despite the distraction it did, Jibo brought comfort and joy to her children. Unfortunately, Jibo shut down after its maker’s business failed.

According to a study, people tend to see human traits onto robots, especially when they act like humans or animals. On the other hand, some AI systems are conscious of humans, so people may think robots are smarter than humans.
