The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) listed Tokyo as the safest city around the world for the third time. The EIU assessed 60 cities in the world based on digital security, health, infrastructure, and personal security. This year, EIU also focused on environmental factors called “urban resilience”: the power of a city to recover from natural disasters. Based on a report, Tokyo and Osaka are seen to experience a decrease in population due to low migration and birthrates. This will help to improve the safety of the two cities.
