“The Journey of Humanity”, the world’s biggest canvas painting has been sold for almost 228 million dirhams or $62 million dollars. It was sold at a Dubai auction and is one of the most expensive artwork ever sold. The artwork was made by a British painter named Sacha Jafri. It measures 17,000 square feet or almost the size of four NBA basketball courts. It was sold to a Dubai-based businessman named Andre Abdoune who bought the paintings twice its original price. Jafri created the artwork to raise money for children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The money collected from this will be donated to various organizations such as UNICEF and UNESCO.
