Something “beautifully evil” is coming to cinemas: The Broadway musical “Wicked” has finally found its Glinda and Elphaba in its movie remake.

Hollywood artist Ariana Grande and British actress Cynthia Erivo are set to play the two main characters in the said Universal Pictures’ movie. Jon M Chu, who previously directed “Crazy Rich Asians” and “In The Heights,” initially posted the plans for the movie earlier this year. Then on Instagram last November 5, he officially announced that the most-wanted roles of Glinda and Elphaba have been taken by Grande and Erivo. The happy news was also shared by the two artists on social media with pictures from the video call with Chu.

The movie’s showing date has not been announced yet, but original writers Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman are reported to work with the script.
