Do you think you can solve a word game in three minutes? The internet’s latest game, Wordle, is simple yet challenging. Software engineer Josh Wardle created it for his partner, who is a word game fan. In an interview with Times, Wardle said of the game, “It’s something that encourages you to spend three minutes a day.” From 90 players in October 2021, Wordle has attracted 300,000 more players as of January 9, 2022.
Wordle goes like this: first, you choose any five-letter word and type it out into the grid. Any incorrect letter pops up in grey. Correct letters turn yellow, and if the letter is also in the right place it turns green. Users have six tries to guess the word.
