The Japanese government conducted 5,000 people from ages 10-17 in December 2018. They were asked about the reasons why they were using the internet and how much time they spend each day. The study said that a young Japanese spent almost three hours searching on the internet, which is nine minutes longer than the previous year.

According to the study, 79% of the users watch online videos, 76% play games, and 66% use the internet to search for different websites or send emails. The government stated that young people are using longer hours online every year. They plan to review the data with the help of the experts so they can suggest the right time duration on online spending.
