World Athletics President Sebastian Coe is worried about the Tokyo Olympics being in difficulties if the coronavirus pandemic can not be controlled next year. As stated by the president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, and Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, said that the Tokyo Games would not be later than summer 2021. Meanwhile, the president of Japan’s Medical Association Yoshitake Yokokura said that it would be difficult to move the Olympics only if effective medicines were made. In line with this, Coe stated that it is not safe to put the athletes at risk. “The ambition is to get the athletes back into competition as soon as we possibly can but only when it is safe to do so.” he added.
