The World Food Programme, which delivered food to 97 million people last year, accepted the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize on the 9th of October. The United Nations agency attempted to establish the WFP in 1961 when US President Dwight Eisenhower suggested this project. Over time, WFP became one of the world’s most well-known charitable groups today. Its most memorable operation was in 1962 when an earthquake hit Northern Iran in 1962. Because of its generous works, the WFP became one of the agencies of the United Nations in 1965. Hearing about the prize, David Beasley, the WFP’s free-spoken American executive director, said that it was his first time to be amazed to receive the Nobel Peace Prize
