China revealed its newest high-speed bullet train that can still operate even under extremely cold temperatures. The CR400AFG-train can run at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour under -40 degrees celsius. It can accommodate as many as 1,080 passengers at a time. The railway connects the Chinese capital, Beijing, with northeastern locations including Shenyang and Harbin. The exact date has not been announced but the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform commission said that the service will begin to operate soon.

The developers ensure that the train will operate safely even in extreme cold climates. They have improved features such as unique braking and electrical heating systems. Zhou Song, the director of the China Railway Beijing Group said that the new system will enable the brakes to move from time to time. There are already 1,036 Fuxing bullet trains in operation since 2017 which have handled a combined 827 million passenger trips and have covered a distance of 836 million kilometers.
