Facebook is planning to make its new smartwatch available to the public by next year, according to The Information. The report stated that the Android-based smartwatch that has messaging, health, and fitness features is currently in creation. Although Facebook has shown no interest in wellness and fitness devices, the company has created several wearables such as its Oculus VR headsets and Portal video chat. The smartwatch is part of Facebook’s effort to expand its hardware lineup for consumers. Additionally, Facebook has been working on branded Ray-Ban smart glasses that are scheduled to be available later this year.
