Hollywood actor-heartthrob Ryan Gosling is reportedly set to play Ken in the upcoming Warner Bros. live action, “Barbie”. Margot Robbie is set to portray the Mattel toy in the film to be directed and co-written by American actress and filmmaker Greta Gerwig. According to reports, the “La La Land” and “The Notebook” star originally declined the role due to his busy schedule. But because of the film studio’s determination and delayed production, Gosling’s stance apparently changed. Meanwhile, the actor recently finished filming “The Gray Man”, a Netflix action thriller by Anthony and Joe Russo.

Ken was introduced in 1961 as the Barbie doll’s male companion, and it celebrated its 50th anniversary earlier this year with a limited-edition collection, featuring the pieces of famous designers, including Dapper Dan. The “Barbie” movie, which was originally set to be filmed in 2019, is set to start in production in early 2022 at WB’s Leavesden Studios in London, with a planned theatrical release in 2023. There is nothing yet known about the film’s plot, except that it should be completely different than what the majority expects.
