Viral video “Baby Shark” is now YouTube’s most viewed video with more than 7 billion views. Pinkfong, South Korea’s educational channel, uploaded the video on June 17, 2016. After four years since Baby Shark’s release, it is now the most viewed video beating the record of another successful hit “Despacito” by Puerto Rican artists Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. Despacito filled in the #1 spot for three years. Pinkfong’s marketing director, Jamie Oh, said that Baby Shark is different compared to nursery rhymes that are supposed to be slow and help children fall asleep. Oh added that they hope that the song will be the next children’s classic song in the future.
